Thasbie’s foray into the musical world

Thasbie is a South African musical goddess who has endeared many people to her through her amazing vocals.

Her foray into music is quite intriguing because she was trained as an Economist while at the University of Johannesburg and then got a job as an investment banker but then she dumped both degree and job to venture into music.

This is not surprising because while as a child, she was engrossed with music and was even in the choir.

Before she became known, she had further demonstrated this exceptional ability by being a backup singer for artists like Cassper Nyovest, Donald, Black Motion, Khuli Chana, and Proverb.

While she was as it, she never saw herself as an artist or one who will eventually do music professionally, but passion has a way of catching up with one though.

She rose to prominence in 2017 after being featured in Kwesta’s Ngiyaz’fela Ngawe. This collaboration was her golden ticket to limelight and it officially marked the beginning of her musical career.

According to her fate brought her across Kwesta because the duo had met when she was about leaving the studio and the latter had asked if she would like to help him on his oncoming yet.

After her collaboration with Kwesta who is a multi-award winning artist, she produced her own songs too and got nominated for the SA music awards three times in less than a year of making her debut.

Since then, she had released two musical albums, the first being Songs about you and the second titled Wavy baby. Both RnB albums were widely received by her fans and have solidified their loyalty for her.

Thabsie is married to Thando Vokwana, they got married in traditionally first before they celebrated their union. Her wedding was a colorful one with precious memories.

One of the memories made was when she sang Ngiyazifela Ngawe for her husband. She commends her husband for supporting her because when she was to quit her banking career, he was the only one who knew about it.

She didn’t tell anyone else because she doesn’t want them to know of her failure if her music didn’t turn out well. And then he gave her his full support in ways she couldn’t even imagine.
